Interaction Zone

Interaction Zone GeoSmart Asia – Locate 18

For the first time at GeoSmart Asia – Locate 18 we are offering an opportunity for everyone to explore answers to some of the biggest questions facing our industry!

The Interaction Zone aims to bring to GeoSmart Asia – Locate 18 an experiential, participatory and engaging form of social knowledge exchange to explore the real-world application of geospatial research, capabilities and technologies to wide range of issues, sectors and challenges.

Hosted by the newly-launched Spatial LabX360, the Interaction Zone will feature dynamic spaces for delegates and speakers, sponsors and exhibitors to start or join in open, participatory discussions.

Interaction Studio

The Interaction Studio will be an interactive media space located inside the conference exhibition, where any attendee can watch the live recording of short panel interviews and join in the discussion.

Three session formats will be on show in the Studio:

  • Challenge panels held during the conference breaks to unpack cross-cutting themes emerging from the conference program
  • Pop-up interview panels held in parallel to the main conference streams to enable deeper, small-group discussion of relevant topics
  • Idea pitchfests held in the afternoon breaks as the final Studio session on Wednesday afternoon where we will invite 1-minute pitches for ideas inspired by the conference to go into the Spatial X360 Innovation Lab later this year.
Interaction Lounge

The Interaction Lounge will be an informal open space for impromptu groups to convene their own pop-up ‘speed conversation’ to continue the exchange started in the Studio or elsewhere in the conference.

The Interaction Zone sessions will be curated and facilitated by Allison Hornery and John Wells who have had extensive experience within the Australian spatial sector over 10 years. They are co-convenors of the Spatial X360 co-innovation labs which are launching soon to “Xplore, Xperiment, Xperience, Xcelerate” new collaborative, multi-sector approaches across the spatial industry and its wider community.

If you would like to nominate a colleague to be interviewed in the I-Zone, more information and contact details are available at http://newspatial.ideascape.co/izone-locate18/

Note: The Interaction Zone is open to all registered delegates, expo partners and sponsors.
