Madam IrRozinahAnas has vast experience in the ICT and Telco industry. Her 28 years stint in Telekom Malaysia encompasses experience in Network Operations, Planning and Implementation, Product Development and Sales. She has successfully managed and deployed mega projects. She has presented in various conferences and seminars locally and abroad. Currently, she is heading the special project on Malaysia Emergency Response Services and is based in Kuala Lumpur. Her latest challenging task is on advocating the use of ICT as a pillar for the improvement of emergency services in Malaysia. Her current task is setting up a new system throughout the country for all the emergency service providers, conducting training program, awareness and publicity campaign to all the stakeholders. Her current role has enabled her to gain insight, exposure and in-depth experience in Public Safety Best Practices& Technology worldwide. Her aspiration is to see Malaysia becoming the hub of Public Safety within the region. She graduated from Clemson University, USA in Electrical Engineering. Her professional qualifications include certification with M.I.E.M. as a professional practicingengineer and Certified International Project Manager (CIPM) from AAPM, USA.
Abstract
SaveME 999
One of the crucial elements in emergency response service is being able to locate and track the callers, victims and the incident. Telekom Malaysia (TM) Berhad had developed a smartphone application with intelligent communication messaging for the emergency services to be accessible to the Person with Disabilities (PwDs) community and simultaneously improved the location tracking capabilities. The PwDs community can choose to contact the Malaysian Emergency Response Services 999 Response Center (MERS 999RC) by sending message or photos of the incident to MERS 999 call takers and responders. The application utilizes the Geographical Positioning System (GPS) information in the smartphone to identify the location of the caller or the incident. This new application is known as SaveME 999. Smartphone users need to have a data plan with any of the cellular operators in Malaysia to utilise the SaveME 999. There is no registration fee or monthly subscription for usage of this application. The application is developed in 2 languages; Bahasa Malaysia and English. This application can be downloaded from MERS 999 portal at http://www.999.gov.my. Upon registration and installation, SaveME 999 is readily available to be activated for any type of emergency situation which requires any of the five (5) Emergency Agencies namely Royal Malaysia Police, Fire and Rescue Department, Ministry of Health, Civil Defence and Malaysia Maritime and Enforcement Agency. Automated Number Identification (ANI) and Automated Location Identification (ALI) are features of MERS 999 that automatically display the caller’s profile and location from fixed line and cellular phone. The sender’s details such as name, telephone number, type of emergency and location of the sender will be transmitted automatically to the MERS 999RC. Information of ANI and ALI are important to locate the emergency incident in the operation of MERS 999 system which is used by MERS 999RC and Emergency Agencies. |

Neogeography – New Tools for the New Geographic Generation
This talk is about current and up and coming technologies that work hand in hand with existing traditional GIS technologies to deliver new breakthrough solutions that changes the way we work. This opens up spatial and nonspatial data that is hidden within the depths of an organisation to people on all levels of the organisation. Low cost commodity hardware, such as the GPS and camera enabled smartphones and the ubiquity of the Internet, give rise to a number of creative solutions as powerful additions to traditional GIS driven workflows. We will explore some case studies across different industries where these can be employed to empower a greater number of users and management at a lower cost.

Abstract
Ho Chin Soon Research (HCSR) specialises in property information dissemination using existing land use maps for the industry players such as property developers and real estate agents. On top of servicing the industry players, HCSR believes in knowledge sharing exercises with the member of public through free talks to update the audience on the latest property news. The presentation shall outline geospatial usage in MRT lines updates, major land transactions and locating the upcoming mega projects. Case study on the usage of UAV by HCSR will also be presented.

Crowd Sourcing using OneMap
What is the current trend of public participation in Singapore geospatial industry? NGOs, NPOs and the public are now able to enjoy the use of OneMap's crowd sourcing map plug-in to have their says of any topic of interest. The public selects a topic of discussion, geo-tag a location based on the underlying OneMap which serves as Singapore reference map, and eventually to post a comment. OneMap's crowd sourcing APIs is now available for developer to build their in house crowd sourcing application either via web version or mobile application. Using OneMap crowd sourcing map plug-in, Cat Welfare Society (CWS) opens a platform for cat lovers and volunteers to post locations where community cats can be spotted or require further care. Restroom Association Singapore (RAS) encourages the volunteers or the public to check list the public toilets' hygiene in Singapore. The posted comments would then be collated and analysed by RAS. Further prompt action will be taken such as to contact the toilet operators to rectify poor hygiene condition arose in particular dirty public toilets; whereas for bird lovers, the bird lovers share nice bird spotting in Singapore by posting the location on the map via their Birders' Corner.

GIS technology is an information system in which user can visualize, manage and most importantly analyse all forms of geographic information. With GIS people can establish relationship which allows us to understand and interpret data in different ways. As GIS uncover patterns and trends it became a mainstream technology for all information with location. GIS starts with desktop solution in which people can analyse data in single system however as data and information evolves and people are provided with several options to gather information through various mediums GIS also advanced into an enterprise implementation with the use of cloud. This technology utilize internet where users could gain access to resources at anytime accessing services that will yield to a meaningful analysis. GIS is utilized on several domains like Government, Utilities, Telecom, Retail, Insurance and airports to name a few. Geopraphic location is an important element to all Insurance companies. Approximately 80-85% of existing databases contains data that can be location enabled. Geographic Location plays a significant role in understanding the relation with risks, Customers, Policies, Claims and Assets. With GIS, companies will gain access, provide accurate and efficient asset management, risks, claims, market and specially customer analysis. These benefits will definitely facilitate greater customer satisfaction and better return on investment. GIS also plays an important role in Airport operations and maintenance. GIS could provide navigation chart which is critical to all Airport. Apart from helping users visualize the location of flight path GIS can also offer regulatory compliance analysis, accurate vertical obstacle analysis and security planning for efficient operation.

Dr.Kam Tin Seong is Associate Professor of Information Systems (Practice) at the School of Information Systems, Singapore Management University. Professor Kam has more than twenty years of experience in both the geospatial industry as well as the academia. His teaching and research interests are in geospatial analytics, geospatial knowledge discovery and spatial statistics, data visualization and interactive analytics and data analytics. He is also the faculty head of SMU-SAS Advanced Analytics Lab. Assoc. Prof Kam is active in consulting work as well as executive training in data visualization, business analytics and GIS for government agencies and companies. Abstract
RIGA: A Rich Internet Geospatial Analytics Application for Area-based Data
In this information age, more and more public statistical data such as population census, household living, local economy and business establishment are distributed over the internet within the framework of spatial data infrastructure. By and large, these data are organized geographically such as region, province as well as district. Usually, they are published in the form of digital maps over the internet as simple points, lines and polygons markers limited or no analytical function available to transform these data into useful information. To meet the analytical needs of casual public data users, we contribute RIGA, a rich internet geospatial analytics application to allow casual data users to explore and analyse these data over the internet with great user experience. We demonstrate the potential of RIGA through the use of Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis (ESDA) and Exploratory Spatial Regression techniques to analyse regional development of Vietnam.
