About Programme

Asia Pacific region is surrounded with various social issues such as poverty, inequality, political unrest, aging populations, environmental degradation, and urbanization. These issues are constantly testing growth capacities and resources of the communities, governments, corporations and civil societies. It is imperative for governmental body to innovate its service delivery mechanisms and policy-making approaches in order to engage with citizens and address these challenges.

Geo-enabled social innovation can support modernisation and improvement of social services. Visual representation of problems enables better understanding and provide an integrated framework for problem-solving / decision-making by policy-makers. Automatic location-based data analytics improve service deliveries, while development of mobile apps shall bring the technology closer to citizens. Geospatial capacity can be the central of the entire governance lifecycle.

The half-day programme on Innovative Governance for Social Change shall feature various innovations developed at governmental and corporate levels, which aim to improve public service deliveries.
