National Mapping Agencies play a central role in achieving the National Developmental Goals, as well as United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals, as the primary agencies responsible for delivering authentic, accurate and updated spatial data to various line ministries, which not only helps them plan their projects and programs, but also keep a close eye for reviewing and assessing its progress as well as maintaining them.

One of the ways for National Mapping Agencies to leverage from the private sector in delivering key benefits for national developmental goals is to form a Public-Private-Partnership ventures. These PPPs may focus on delivering National Geospatial Platform as a Service to the ministries and citizens for a variety of purposes, such as for Content and Technology, Information Services, Capacity Development and Dissemination as well as for Standards, Policies and Legal considerations.

Asia Pacific NMA – Industry Exchange Forum aims to bring together the perspectives of these two important stakeholder of geospatial ecosystem on how collaborations can be forged for ensuring smarter and sustainable delivery of spatial data and information for various national development goals or the SDGs.
