The plenary sessions will bring together thought leaders from government, user agencies, multilateral organizations and industry to share their insights on the current and future trends of geospatial technology, pertaining to the theme “Geo – Driven Development.”

Plenary I – Vision and Policies defining Geospatial Industry
In response to the growing needs for timely and accurate geospatial information for national development, countries are building a strong foundation for their geospatial infrastructure and regulatory framework. Right vision and adequate policies are one of the key drivers for the growth of geospatial industry of any country. The role of the government, as the regulator and programme implementer, is rapidly shifting from being a primary provider of authoritative geospatial information to coordinating and managing geospatial data and facilitating partnerships among the producers and consumers of geospatial information. Having a right policy in place streamlines the processes & framework amongst all relevant organisations, it adds the advantage of bringing geospatial data together under one umbrella accommodating their interoperability and standard issues. South Asian region is one region which is giving adequate focus to geospatial policy and act. in their own ways. This very session will offer the opportunity to South Asian countries to present their overview on geospatial policies and vision for their respective region.

Plenary II- G-Innovation & G-Tech
Geospatial Industry is evolving at a very fast pace each passing day. Newer and advanced technologies are coming up to meet the growing needs and deliver efficient and precise solutions to serve various user domains. South Asia as a region is investing tremendously in bringing innovations and technologies in geospatial domain to serve their priority areas like water, land, utilities etc. This session will witness the presentation of technology stalwarts of geospatial industry from across the globe.

Plenary Panel- Public-Private-Academia Partnership (PPAP) – Key to Success
Users, policy makers, technologists and academicians are four strong pillars of geospatial ecosystem of any country. They need to work in close co-ordination and association with each other to bring desirable results and meet the set objectives. This panel is a sincere effort to bring synergy between these four pillars by initiating dialogue between them.
